On a bright and hopeful Saturday, the streets between St. Clair and Superior in Cleveland, Ohio saw a transformation—not just in appearance, but in unity and purpose. St. Clair and Superior Community Development Center (CDC) hosted a neighborhood cleanup event that brought together residents, youth, and local leaders with one shared goal: creating a cleaner, safer, and more vibrant community.
Among the dedicated volunteers was a team of 11 from Charlotte Perkins’ campaign, who is currently running as a candidate for Cleveland’s new Ward 8. Their presence underscored a commitment not only to leadership but to hands-on service—standing shoulder-to-shoulder with residents to make a real impact.
The event was more than just picking up litter—it was about empowering the next generation. Five local youth participated and earned community service credits while learning firsthand the value of civic responsibility and taking pride in where they live. Their energy and enthusiasm reminded everyone that community care is a seed best planted young.
After the hard work was done, volunteers gathered at Maple Lanes for a well-earned break and a meal. Sharing pizza and laughter with the event organizers and neighbors helped turn the day’s efforts into lasting memories and deeper connections.
Events like these are a testament to the power of community collaboration. Whether through the leadership of local CDCs, the support of candidates who show up, or the involvement of youth with a vision for a better future—every hand makes a difference.
Thank you to everyone who came out, gave their time, and proved that Cleveland shines brightest when we clean it up together providing Community Solutions!!
